Claiming An Academic Scholarship
First-Year Recipients
If you are a first-year recipient having your scholarship funded for the first fall semester, please email the following documents (all documents attached to ONE email) in jpeg or pdf format to scholarships@texasffafoundation.org by August 1 :
- Fall Semester Schedule
- Signed Texas FFA Scholarship Acceptance Agreement
- Signed Wallrath Scholarship Acceptance Agreement
- Copy of Thank You Letter (Original letter sent by mail to your scholarship sponsor by Aug. 1)
Returning Students
To have scholarship payment sent, returning student must submit the following documents (all documents attached to ONE email) to scholarships@texasffafoundation.org
Spring Semester(submit by January 2)
- Unofficial transcript; fall semester grades, GPA and hours earned; and spring semester schedule
- Copy of letter to Scholarship Sponsor (original letter mailed directly to sponsor) that includes an update about fall semester accomplishments
Fall Semester(submit by July 1)
- Unofficial transcript; fall semester grades, GPA and hours earned; and spring semester schedule

Scholarship Requirements
To continue receiving the scholarship, the recipient must meet the following requirements:
- Texas FFA Scholarship - 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA
- Wallrath Scholarship – 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA
- Full-time enrollment – earn a minimum of 12 hours per semester
- Pursuit of a course of study leading to a 4-year degree (enrollment in community or junior college is permissible but limited to four semesters)

The Texas Agriculture Education Scholarship Fund is an endowment set up by the Texas FFA Foundation Board of Directors from funds made available through the Attorney General. The scholarship is awarded through the Texas FFA Association scholarship application process in the spring of each year. The winner or winners of this scholarship are required to attend the scholarship luncheon at the annual state FFA convention in July. These scholarships are $2000 - $4000. In order to maintain eligibility the student must be full time enrolled and maintain a 2.5 current and cumulative GPA. Scholarship recipients must maintain an approved degree plan leading to the attainment of a baccalaureate degree at a selected accredited Texas college or university throughout the duration of the scholarship. The student must report to the state scholarship administrator before July 1st for Fall disbursement and January 2nd for Spring disbursement.

Davidson, a Fort Worth oilman who, on his morning walk in downtown Fort Worth happened onto a group of well dressed and groomed blue-corduroy-clad boys streaming into the Tarrant County Convention Center. Impressed with their conduct and appearance, he walked into the 41st Texas FFA Convention, spending the better part of the morning watching the state officers conduct the business of the state association and give eloquent presentations. This was the beginning of a relationship that resulted in the establishment of the C.J.Red
Davidson Scholarship. Upon Mr. Davidson’s passing, stocks were given to ensure the perpetuation of the scholarship program.The scholarship is awarded through the Texas FFA Association scholarship application process in the spring of each year. The winner or winners of this scholarship are required to attend the scholarship luncheon at the annual state FFA convention in July. These scholarships are disbursed over 8 semesters of college attendance. In order to maintain eligibility the student must be full time enrolled and maintain a 2.5 current and cumulative GPA. The Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation Scholarships are funded through the generous donations of Mr. Richard Wallrath. These scholarships are $10,000 and are disbursed over eight semesters of college attendance. In order to maintain eligibility, scholarship recipients must be full time enrolled and maintain a 2.0 current and cumulative grade point average (GPA) at a selected accredited Texas college or university.
Although the scholarships are paid directly from the Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation, the Texas FFA Foundation administers and coordinates payments each semester. The student must report to the state scholarship administrator before July 1st for Fall disbursement and January 2nd for Spring disbursement.
